Spoilt for choice in Chinatown? Soho is home to some of the most delicious Chinese eateries in the country, but we’ve got a particular favourite… behold the mighty Wong Kei!

It’s a cash-only restaurant, so be sure to grab some notes from the ATM (there’s a handy one just down the road!) before you head inside.

Serving up an array of classic dishes including crispy seaweed, noodle soups, spring rolls and crispy belly pork, you’re sure to find something on the menu to excite your taste buds.

This powerhouse of Chinese cuisine is set across two floors, and it’s easy to see why it’s so popular. With no-nonsense, lightning fast service and exceptionally tasty food, it’s perfect for feeding busy Londoners on the go.

If you like chow mein, give the Fried Ho Fun and Beef with Black Bean Sauce a try. It’s packed with beautifully cooked meat, onion and green pepper on a noodle bed. We’d also recommend the Sweet and Sour Chicken – a popular dish for many, and for good reason too!

Food is served with a complimentary pot of jasmine tea. Our tip? If you need a refill, flip the teapot lid open and sit tight. The staff whizz around the place at pace and they don’t miss a thing. You’ll have a top up in no time.

If you don’t mind eating meat on the bone, the braised duck is a great option for sharing between a few of you. Lush!

It’s safe to say, Wong Kei is a hit. So round up your nearest and dearest, head down to Chinatown and enjoy an unforgettable lunch in the heart of the capital.
